• 1 large apple, cut in half and cored
  • 1 tablespoon non-hydrogenated vegan margarine
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoon wheat germ or oats
  • 1 tablespoon fig preserves (other preserves would work- fig is best)
  • 1 tablespoon raw vegan sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegan soymilk, optional


Preheat oven to 400F. Cut apple in half and remove core. In a separate bowl, combine the wheat germ (or oats), margarine, spices, preserves and sugar. Fill the holes in each apple half with the mixture. Wrap in aluminum foil and cook in oven for 25-30 minutes, until soft. Serve in a bowl, drizzled with the soymilk if desired. YUM! Great for a quick sweet fix.
