• 2/3 cup organic oatmeal (not the quick cooking kind)
  • 1.5C water
  • dash sea salt
  • 1 bartlett pear, washed, cored and chopped coarsely
  • 1/4C walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 3T organic vegan maple syrup


Add salt to water and bring to a boil. When water is viigorously boiling, add oatmeal. Boil oatmeal briefly, then lower heat to simmer, and cover. Get in the shower. ( Make it snappy- there are others waiting) Get out of the shower. By the time you are dressed, the oatmeal will be perfect. Add the pears, walnuts, and maple syrup. If you are cooking for one, pack up the remaining portion for your at-work mid morning or mid afternoon snack. It’ll keep you going and warm your heart if you have memories of your mom serving you oatmeal. :-}
