Most of us have had times in our lives when we just could not go any further with a situation and we have straightened our back, stomped our foot and said, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH…NO MORE! Times like these are tough times. Tough times require some tough living for sure.
Tough times can lead us to make tough decisions. I remember the sign over our locker room door in High School. We would see it every time we headed out of the locker room onto the field to play a game. It read, “WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, THE TOUGH GET GOING.”  What if I told you that there is a time when the tough get going and it’s to a place where there are no tough times ever again?

Well this post is not about tough times. As a matter of fact it is about the end of tough times…Amen? I want to talk to you about the 7 NO MORES we find in the last two chapters of the Bible. Yep, Revelation chapters 21 and 22. Listen to these verses that tell us about the end of tough times for our lives.

Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John,[a] saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. 5Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” (NKJV)

Revelation 22: 1 And he showed me a pure[a] river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

Think of the ways that the sea can have a natural and spiritual application:
    -The sea separates
    -The sea is unstable
    -The sea is restless
Unless you are very young, doubtless you have stood at the grave at the funeral of someone you loved. You experienced the pain that death brings in separating us from our friends and loved ones. But for the believer, the separation is only temporary.

A few days before his death, Dr. F. B. Meyer wrote a very dear friend these words: “I have just heard, to my great surprise, that I have but a few days to live. It may be that before this reaches you, I shall have entered the palace. Don’t trouble to write. We shall meet in the morning.” – Mrs. C. Cowman

NO MORE DEATH means these times of being separated will end and life will continue on eternally as we eat from the tree of life.

Sorrow goes deep to the core when you have to walk through it. It is an unbearable weight. It is a gnawing pain that grips you and shakes you till your bones hurt. Sorrow is a condition of living in a fallen world.

Can you imagine an environment where sorrow, regret, remorse and loss are no longer possible? Wow what a wonder of wonders. Yet this is the reality that awaits the saints of God.

This is the tears brought on by life’s losses and trials, by evil, by death….and in Heaven and the New Earth, no crying will occur. In some way, the cries that are issuing out of hell will not be heard in the place of the redeemed.

-Average times per month a woman cries: 5 Average times per month a man cries: 1 – Good Housekeeping, April 1997.

-Often when the hard times come the crying comes, but then the hard times will cease and the tears will disappear forever.

What things in life cause you to hurt?
Imagine walking through the ICU of a children’s hospital and seeing the agony. Now, think of the awesome reality of these three words with that picture in your mind…NO MORE PAIN!
The things that cause you hurt in this life now, will not do so then because the tough times will be non-existent then.
Before the curse, there was only beauty, only perfection, and life giving joy. These things will be in abundant supply in the place where the curse is no more.

Dear friend the power of the cross has broken the power of the curse and its full benefit will not be known until we reach Heaven. It is the tough times that demand that our heart must hope in God

QUOTE: Hope means hoping when things are hopeless, or it is no virtue at all…As long as matters are really hopeful, hope is mere flattery or platitude; it is only when everything is hopeless that hope begins to be a strength. – G.K. Chesterton, Signs of the Times, April 1993

Night will be no more due to the light, the eternal light of God Himself and His Christ will illuminate the place of the saved. What glory that will be!

QUOTE- Death is not extinguishing the light from the Christian; it is putting out the lamp because the dawn has come. (UNKNOWN)

A pastor had performed a funeral. The service was over, and three of the deceased man’s relatives were standing by the coffin comforting one another when suddenly we heard a strange beeping sound….coming from the coffin. The women stopped talking, and I began to look around when we all realized that the alarm on the corpse’s watch was going off! The relatives laughed nervously, and began to discuss what it might mean. One thing it definitely meant is this: the man missed his appointment. When the man set his alarm, I am sure there was no doubt in his mind that he would keep that appointment….but he didn’t. The same is true for you and me. For most of us, death will find us with full calendars, busy agendas, and schedules crowded with coming events. But when it’s time to go, we will go anyway, jam-packed day-planners not withstanding. Plan your appointments this week with an eye to the one appointment you will definitely keep–an appointment with your maker. Dear friend, these eternal truths speak of that which awaits those who have trusted Christ. I pray that you have said to him….NO MORE WILL I LIVE IN MY SIN. NO MORE WILL I LIVE WITHOUT CHRIST. NO MORE WILL I GO WITHOUT CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD. Trust Christ now and secure your presence in the place of the seven no mores!
What a very very important matter for you to consider. When your life ends, will the tough times end? Or will the really tough stuff just be beginning?
